German for Kids
NEW METHOD of Teaching Kids German...
Even if They're Too Young To Read!
Dear German-Speaking Parent,
Are you looking for a fun, effective way to share the German language with your child?
Wouldn’t it be great to give them a head start hearing and speaking German, while their growing brains are literally “language learning machines”?
How great would it be if you could use the power of the computer and attraction of a video game to open your child’s mind to hundreds of German words?
“The best learning feels more like play than work”
My name is Sandy, and I grew up in Berlin. When I moved to the US, I made friends with lots of German speakers with small children. They often talked about how sad they were that their kids weren’t learning German. They couldn’t share the stories and the songs of their own youth with their children.
Some of them tried to spend time speaking German with their youngsters, but didn’t always have the time, and weren’t sure how to introduce a second language. They tried some computer-based language learning programs, but soon realized that they worked great for readers, but not for kids who couldn’t yet follow written instructions.
My husband Steve is a computer programmer and Internet expert. When I asked him if he knew of any good German-language programs for kids, he did a search and came up empty. That’s when he got this look in his eyes (if you’ve ever lived with a programmer, you know exactly what I’m talking about), and said, “Why don’t we make one ourselves?”
“I purchased the Easy German For Kids CD for my two young kids. We opened it in the aftenoon, and I finally made them shut it off at nine o’clock at night! If you want a fun and positive first experience with a new language, I strongly recommend it for beginners. I think that the first introduction sets the tone for either enthusiasm or reluctance when it comes to any type of education. So thank you for creating this fun Software at a great price! ”

“The ‘Rosetta Stone’ for the Pre-Kindergarten Set”
We researched the most effective language programs in the market — Rosetta Stone, Berlitz, Pimsleur — and modeled the best features of each. From Pimsleur we took spaced repetition. From Rosetta Stone, positive feedback and engagement. From Berlitz, understanding in context.
Steve also is a big fan of video games, so he understands how to make an activity fun, engaging and challenging. Together, we started experimenting. I recorded the audio (we definitely wanted kids to learn from a native German speaker), Steve found simple and cheerful pictures, and wrote a simple yet powerful program that we call “Easy German For Kids.”
My friends immediately loved it, and encouraged us to make it available to German-speaking parents everywhere. (OK, and non-German-speaking parents who want their kids to learn German too.)
“ Hello, we are a family of 4 living in Germany. Our kids are 4 & 5 years old and we just moved here in Nov 09. We love the Easy German For Kids. It is easy for both of our kids to use and they have been able to retain the information we believe due to the fact that it is interactive. My husband and I have even used to it to learn some German. We hope that you make more of these programs, please. Keep up the great work! No regret buying the program and really my favorite feature is that the kids get to play and learn at the same time. Did I mention they Love it! :)”

“This product is really fantastic. It is easy to understand and the pictures are nice and big. I particularly think it is very motivational to hear the voice saying in german what you see on the screen. The learning effect is just so much more intense, since you hear what you see.
Great product, hope for more to come in the future.
Thank you for helping us teaching german to our children”

You can play along with your child, but you don’t have to. The program is so clear and intuitive, they’ll be happily learning German on their own in seconds. And don’t be surprised when they start trying to teach you to say, “The giraffe has a long neck” in German!
If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to introduce the beautiful and rich German language and heritage to your child, we hope you’ll give our “labor of love” a try.
And please let us know what you think!
